Week 24

Oh my goodness.. this week was just full of miracles!! Miracle #1- Aiden got baptized!!! It was a very spiritual baptism. :) His older brother was supposed to give the talk on baptism but wasn't able to get off work in time. So Aiden says, "Oh I know! You can just do it Sister Flamm!" I was like uhhh... Sister Kirschner would love to do it! Haha I'm not so good at on the spot things. Nooo way. Haha but I gladly gave the closing prayer :) But it all worked out great! Sister Kirschner did a great job at winging it. After the baptism I asked Aiden how he felt and he told me that he was really happy and that it felt right. :)

Miracle #2- Angelica (our investigator) attended Aiden's baptism and loved it!! We haven't been able to teach her for like 2 months because she got a job as a nanny. But now we're finally able to teach her again! She told me after the baptism that she started reading from the Book of Mormon again. She said that she started reading and then just kept going! She said that it just brought her a lot of comfort and peace. I'm telling you.. she's GOLDEN!!

Miracle #3- Aiden received the gift of the Holy Ghost!!

Miracle #4- Aiden's dad came to church to witness Aiden's confirmation!!! I can't even tell you how exciting that was!!! He walked in with a Mariner's jersey, dress pants, dress shoes, and with a huge grin on his face. Haha it was the greatest thing ever!! He thought it was funny that we were so shocked to see him :) He hasn't been to a church in years and years. So this was huge!

After Aiden's confirmation I asked him how he felt again and he said that it felt complete :) Man, he's just such an amazing little guy. I love him so much! I know that Baptism is necessary for us to be able to return to live with Heavenly Father again someday. But I also know that baptism is just the first step. This gospel is a way of life! I wish I could tell you all of the other miracles that I've been able to be apart of this week, but I'm out of time. I love you all so much and I hope that you have a great week!!

"19 And now, my beloved brethren, after ye have gotten into this strait and narrow path, I would ask if all is done? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for ye have not come thus far save it were by the word of Christ with unshaken faith in him, relying wholly upon the merits of him who is mighty to save.
20 Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life."
-3 Nephi 31:19-20

Week 23

Hello Flammily and Friends! :)

I don't have a lot of time because my computer keeps crashing.. so I'm praying that it'll work for a few more minutes so that I can tell you a little bit about my week!

After leaving a lesson from a member's home last night, we saw their neighbors across the street outside. We went over, started talking to them, and were able to teach the the Restoration right then! They set up some chairs for us outside and then brought out a loaf of zuchinni bread and water for us. I'm telling you... I have run into some of the most gracious people in the world here. These people don't even know me, yet they are so willing to serve and give me what they have! They are such great examples to me. Ahh.. I have SO much to learn. But I love it. :) So anyways, we started teaching them about the Restoration. As we were talking about Joseph Smith one of the ladies named Nomi said, "You're giving me goosebumps!!" I wish you all could have felt the Spirit that was present at that time!! We've really been striving to help all of our investigators to feel and recognize the Spirit in our lessons lately. I know that the Holy Ghost is the ultimate teacher and I pray that I can say the right things and allow Him to work through me! But we're going to go back and teach Gloria and Nomi this week. So if you could pray for them I would greatly appreciate it. :)

I know that this isn't a Mormon Message, but I want you all to watch it. It has such a great message!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaWA2GbcnJU

I'm so very grateful for the opportunity that I have to serve My Savior. I know that this is the most important work that we can all be involved in. :) Look for ways to help those in need this week!

"And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."
-Mosiah 2:17

I love you all!!! Talk to you next week! :)

Week 22

Welcome to the Flammily Kinsley Mae!!! Ahhh.. she is so precious! I just love her so much :) I keep praying that all will go well and that she'll be healthy and strong!

We had our missionary devotional last night and it was SO powerful. I just wish I could video it and send it to all of you! We watched this video and tears just came to my eyes immediately.

I think the biggest thing that I've learned on my mission so far has been that My Savior LIVES. I know that with all of my heart! I know that every single one of us matter to Him. So try to think of something this week that you can work on to show Him your appreciation for all that He has done for us. :)

So Aiden is still committed to baptism on August 30! Less than two weeks! I'm so excited :) We went over to his house for a lesson on Saturday night and the whole family sat in on the lesson and participated! It was such a spiritual experience. Afterwards Brother Blanco told us thank you for teaching his son. He told us that he was raised Catholic but fell away because of some hurt feelings. He said that he knew that what we were doing was hard work and that he really appreciated it. My heart melted when he told us that. He was being so sincere! And that's not like him at all. He usually is joking around and speaking really fast in spanish so that we can't understand him. Ha but it was amazing to be able to see his heart soften. I hope and pray that it will continue to soften as he experiences Aiden's baptism. :)

Well I've got to get going. Thanks to everyone that emailed me this week! And I'm sorry that I wasn't able to reply to all of you. But just know that I love you!! :)
Take care :)
