Week 60

Hey! How is everyone?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my favorite Dad EVER! (And my only dad.. ;) I hope you get spoiled rotten. Eat some of your peanut M&M's for me. ;) Love you!!

This week we had Stake Conference and it was really good! For the Sunday morning one we were in the back.. so I was trying to block out the noise from all of the little kids. So that was hard! I'm just counting my blessings that I don't have any crazy munchkins of my own to worry about right now. Ha. ;)
So a sister that spoke at Stake Conference talked about how we shouldn't push back the baptismal dates(and the dates of other saving ordinances) for our ancestors. It's important that we go to the Temple so that those we love don't have to keep waiting! I thought that was pretty cool. Cause obviously our investigators dates get pushed back all the time for one reason or another. But we're pushing our ancestors dates back if we don't go to the Temple. So people.. go for them! I love the Temple and absolutely can't wait until I get to go again. :)

Another thought.. I hope you all are reading the Book of Mormon every single day. I love what Elder Kevin W. Pearson said in his talk Stay by the Tree. He said,
"4. The Book of Mormon Is Key to Spiritual Survival
Life’s journey is challenging. It’s easy to be distracted, wander off the path, and get lost. Tribulation is an inevitable and indispensable part of our eternal progression. When adversity comes, don’t let something you don’t fully understand unravel everything you do know. Be patient, cling to truth; understanding will come. Trials are like great mists of darkness that can blind our eyes and harden our hearts. Unless we are “continually holding fast” to the word of God and living it, we will become spiritually blinded rather than spiritually minded. Search the Book of Mormon and the words of the living prophets every day, every day, every day! It’s the key to spiritual survival and avoiding deception. Without it, we are spiritually lost."
I love the Book of Mormon. I finished again this morning and I know without a doubt that it is true. It has changed my life and I hope that you will all let it change yours as well.

I love you all!!! Have a great week and enjoy Fisherman's Breakfast. (So jealous that I can't be there for that)
Oh and good luck on finals, Spence! :)

Week 59

I hope all of you mothers had a great Mother's Day yesterday! I appreciate all of your wonderful examples. And especially yours, mom. You are THEE greatest and I love you so much. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for you. :)

Brother Carey got baptized on Saturday! So that was great. His non-member parents came for that and his confirmation on Sunday as well! Too bad they don't live in our area... but hopefully they felt the Spirit strongly and have a desire to learn more! Brother Carey was the first lesson that I had when I got back into this area. As we went along with the lessons he told us that the Spirit confirmed to him that baptism was the right thing for him to do. I love strong confirmations from the Spirit like that. I know that that's something that you can never deny!

So last week I told you about Joe's brother sitting in on our lesson and telling Joe to go to church, right? Ha so Willie (the brother) became a new investigator this last week! We dropped by and talked to him a little bit about the Book of Mormon and he said, "I like this!!" with a huge grin on his face. Haha I love it when people get so excited about reading the Book of Mormon. It's the greatest thing ever. Probably because that book is the greatest thing ever. :)

There's a fairly new app that you all should check out! It's called LDS pamphlets. It has all of the pamphlets that we teach out of.. but it's better! Check it out. It's something that will be really good for FHE. :)

Well.. shout out to Dakota! I can't even believe that he's on his plane ride home right now. Pretty sure that I'm sick for him. Ha. I'm proud of you though, Dakota and the person that you've become. You have changed my life! I couldn't ask for a better best friend than you. :) I love you!! Give my Flammily a hug for me. :)

Well I love you all so much! Have a beautiful day. :)

Week 58

Well... I hope everyone had a great week! I seriously can't even remember what all went on this last week. There was kind of a lot of cancellations and stuff.. so pretty much just missionary life! ;)
We had a lesson with the Pouvi's this last week though! Olivia and Destiny are the ones that are recent converts and Olivia's husband Joe, is not yet a member. We taught him the Restoration and things were going pretty well! But at the end he said that he felt like he didn't need to go to church. He just needed to be a good person and have a relationship with God. -_-   <-- That was my face when he said that. Ha so clearly he didn't understand the part of Christ establishing His church. So we went back over it to see if we could help him connect the dots. It was cool because his non-member brother also sat in on the lesson and was testifying to him about the importance of church and how it's a time for us to worship and grow spiritually. It was so good! Ha so after that I asked Joe if he thought that God told Christ to establish His church when He came to the earth. He agreed. So I asked him If God commanded Christ to establish His church, do you think it would be important to go to it? (or something of that sort.. I can't remember exactly what I said) Long story short, Joe came to church yesterday! Haha so hopefully he has a little bit better understanding of the importance of church and Christ's restored gospel. :)

I know that Jesus Christ truly did establish His church when He came to earth and I am so grateful that we have the opportunity to be apart of the church today! I know that it's true.

I love you all! Thanks for all of the support :)
